How to install:

Review the door and frame to find the best position to install
both the patio bolt and strike box.

Please note: many sliding doors do not require a strike box or strike plate.

Refer options below regarding face or edge installation on inside sliding doors; or face installation

on outside sliding doors.
Ensure the position of the patio bolt body is at a suitable  location on the door to hold and operate the bolt knob.
IMPORTANT – Check mounting screws will clear edge of glass – the patio bolt can be rotated 180 degrees vertically, prior to installation, to assist with this or to facilitate preferred access to either the cylinder (with key) or the bolt knob.

Refer details on page 2 under Patio Bolt Orientation on Door and Reversible Bolt.
2 Position the template, mark and drill 2 only 4mm diameter holes for aluminium doors; or 2 only 3mm diameter holes for timber doors.
3 Remove the bolt by pressing down on the black plastic tab to release the bolt.
4 Remove the cover.
5 Position the patio bolt body onto the door and fasten to aluminium door with the 2 only 10g, 16mm self-tapping
screws supplied; or fasten to timber door with 2 only 10g,
32mm self-tapping screws supplied.
6 Replace the cover onto the patio bolt body and refit the bolt. Make sure the bolt sits firmly in open and closed positions
and that the key locks and unlocks the bolt.
NOTE: A 5mm body packer is included to assist when the door
face is recessed in the frame for correct alignment of bolt into strike
box. An extended bolt (PTPB10/BTPH2BCS) is also available as an
accessory.
Option 1: Install Standard Strike Box on Door Frame
Inside Sliding Door – Face Installation
1 With the door closed, position the standard strike box over the extended bolt end.
2 Mark the positions for the 3 mounting screws.
3 Drill 3 only 3mm diameter holes.
4 Fasten the standard strike box using the 3 only 8g, 25mm self-tapping screws supplied.
5 Close the door and check for correct bolt operation and
locking.
Option 2: Drill Bolt Hole in Door Frame
Inside Sliding Door – Face Installation or Edge Installation; or Outside Sliding Door – Face Installation.
1 With the door closed, extend the bolt so the tip rests on the door frame.
2 Tap gently on the bolt knob to mark the frame.
3 Open the door and drill a 12mm diameter hole in the frame for bolt to enter.
4 Close the door and check for correct bolt operation and locking.
NOTE: The bolt body may need to be removed to allow drilling of the 12mm hole, and then re-fitted.
